Extremadura is more than a Spanish region; it is a universe. Throughout its 41.000 km2 there is room for everything, from the high Sistema Central Mountains to the vast Southem plains; exuberant Nature in Monfragüe National Park, neverending oak tree woods, curled pasture lands, fertile river shores, high plains of torrid summers ... A fortified city an explosion of medieval architecture and culturethat is Toledo. Walking around it is like going bach in time to the Middle Ages. Toledo reflects the presence of El Greco.

Called the City of the Three Cultures, the entire city is full of art, harmony and is an example of peaceful existence between Arabs, Jews and Christians during centuries.

Salamanca is a beautiful and welcoming city, very clean and especially safe above all. It is a city with an important variety of cultural events and a great offert to enjoy leisure and nature. Moreover, Salamanca has especialized academies and schools in teaching Spanish with a great tradition and well known. This is the ideal place to learn Spanish because it is the pure Castillian. Hence, this region is known as the cradle of Castillian. The city of Salamanca has 160,415 inhabitants, which represents 45% of the population of the entire province. In addition to this number, there are the students that come to the city every year. These represent an important floating population, since the city’s universities receive more than 35,000 students and its Spanish Schools around 20,000 foreigners.

The University of Córdoba, through the UcoIdiomas language center, offers foreign students the opportunity to live and study in one of the oldest and historically most important cities of Spain. This Andalusian city was the center of Jewish and Muslim culture, and nowadays is admired for its architectural monuments, mainly the Great Mosque-Cathedral, considered to be the most important Islamic monument built in the West.

Córdoba, declared World Heritage City by UNESCO, is nowadays a combination of tradition and modernity, a place not only with a varied artistic legacy, but also a rich cultural and social life.
